Status update

At this moment I have even less time left to work on hobby games anymore. For school I started learning Unreal Engine 5, currently working with Blueprints and C++. This is taking a lot of time, but I hope to create a hobby game in UE 5 someday. Also found out that my current hardware is almost becoming a bottleneck for game development in UE 5.

New game reveal

Another unnamed game which has implicitly mentioned before which was in development is now playable (however not I have not publicly added a downloadlink yet, current state only features 5 levels), this game is named Super Bullet Bill Bros. The game mechanics are heavily inspired by an old flash game in which you control a bullet bill where you had to hit bricks and enemies to gain score and avoid solid walls, and eventualy reach the exit of the level.

My new game however includes some new mechanics, starting with 2 player splitscreen support. The player can also choose between keyboard (& controller) or mouse control. It features a custom save file system with a custom encryption.
A level editor is also scheduled to be added after the main version of the game has been released. The game also features several powerups, certain enemies that deal damage if hit but allow the player to gain even more score. Several worlds are planned to be added in the game. There´s no story yet. This will be the last game that will be made in GM8.1.

Back in 2013 I made a game before which was almost perfectly a clone of the flash game, but unfinished and without an UI.

Super Mario 256

Due to learning UE 5 and school I barely have any time left to work on the new game, along with Super Mario 256. I do not expect to update SM256 yet this year, many level designs have already been made for SM256 and a PDF file which has the story, support, a glossary and credits has already been finished.

A special note: After SM256 is finished (also including the level editor program), it will be ported to GMS, after which then, the project will be ported to GMS2. When the game is ported to GMS2, the audio issues will be fixed and the performance will be increased. Note that this will take serious lot of time, so don't expect this to be done yet in the coming years.
