Sony PlayStation Portable

Favorite games: Grand theft Auto: Vice City stories, not complete
A very impressive console for its time! It has very impressive 3D graphics and resolution for its time which no other device of its size could handle (The Nintendo DS only being comming close to its mobile graphical power), it features some pretty interesting functionality such as linking it to a Playstation 3 to use it as a controller (it makes the TV output very pixelated though...) in the menu and in (very few, although the Vita supports more) supported games, it also supports a special cable which can be used as AV out to connect it to a TV, which is very interesting if you happen to have any of the UMD movies.
It's really cool to see a disc so small in a device being able to store a whole game or movie, although it wasn't the fastest solution! The movie resolution however has been deprecated already due to the Blu Ray discs and the dual layered DVD's which support 1080i resolution content and higher. It can play games using some wireless protocol and Wifi. It features a joystick with OK accurancy and more button than the Nintendo DS had but no touchscreen.
The device uses some Sony's Pro Duo format as a memory stick. It can be used to store movies, music, pictures and games and other media.
My model is a PSP-3000 from Japan. Due to it being Japanese the XMB menu confirms are done using the ⭕️ instead of the ❌, it also came with some Japanese software such as a manga reader and a service which requires an addon that only works in certain parts of Japan. It has an interesting music player called SensMe, it features themes, an internet browser (although the device does not support new wifi security such WPA2 and 5GHz) and an internet radio, A camera (if peripheral is connected) and PlayStation Network shop. I haven't seen it supporting trophies for games though.
This model seems to have the best screen according to some people thanks to the broader color gamut support, brighter screen and the high responsetime, although some people complain about the scanline issue. Even though the scanline issue is noticable I'd still prefer this over any slow response time screen with less good colors.
The speakers are exceptionally good for a mobile device! Even though it has been fine tuned to cut low frequencies just like the 3DS, it has a high amount of detail for a small device! Stereo image is good.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
This game features an insane amount of gameplay for a mobile device at the time! It's as if you are playing an open world game like SM64 but in a real world in criminal situation in the 80's. You fight gangs and buy bases, defend to control the city and when doing this you find some interesting characters with funny stories, often dark humor, where you have to be that guy who has to handle all the (mostly illegal) tasks, even though the protagonist doesn't like doing this. You can extend bought businesses, do races, do jobs for your business and get a huge income depending on the progress you made. This mobile version supports multiplayer which I haven't played yet but sounds real fun! It's one of the harder GTA's but the final missions is real satisfactory if finished! Drive cars, boats, fly planes and collect hidden packages.
More games to come!
